We bring alternative methods closer to people and work with the scientific community
Transforming scientific practices

Our Research area was created in response to a deep and silenced issue: the suffering of animals used for scientific research, which remains hidden behind laboratory walls. It was developed with the aim of shedding light on this reality, by promoting scientific advancements that reduce the use and suffering of animals in research across Latin America.
Our work focuses on facilitating the transition to ethical research models by promoting and supporting validated alternative methods that replace, reduce, or refine the use of animals (3Rs principles), with the ultimate goal of full replacement. To achieve this, we develop informative, technical, and educational content to inform the public, authorities, and decision-makers, and contribute with solid foundations to the creation or improvement of regulatory frameworks in the region.
We actively engage with scientists and institutions working on the development of alternatives to animal testing, highlighting their efforts and creating collaborative spaces that strengthen the scientific community committed to animal welfare.
Another strategic focus is to build bridges between laboratories developing alternative methods and companies in the industry interested in incorporating these innovations into their safety assessment processes. This connection seeks to accelerate the transformation of the sector, enabling companies to move toward a cruelty-free model supported by scientific evidence and technical feasibility.
With a regional perspective, our area works towards a future where science is ethical, innovative, and respectful of all forms of life.
