Who we are

Te Protejo is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of cruelty free cosmetics, along with a plant-based lifestyle and other initiatives respectful towards environment and animals. Since 2012 has worked in favor of animals used in laboratories in Latin America.

Our purpose is to create a culture of responsible consumption in Latin America, empowering consumers to demand a sustainable cosmetics industry free of animal cruelty. We have a network of more than 100 volunteers in the areas of Awareness, Certifications, Linkage and Advocacy, who help us disseminate information about the organization's mission to raise awareness about animal and environmental protection in different areas.

Raise awareness among the population about responsible consumption in the cosmetics and home cleaning industry, through the promotion of initiatives that are respectful of animals, people and the environment.

VISION

Transform the production and communications processes of the cosmetics industry in Latin America towards more sustainable ones free of animal cruelty.

Camila Cortínez

President

General Director and Founder of Te Protejo, she has more than ten years of experience in project management and development and in leadership of non-governmental organizations in the environmental/animal area. Young entrepreneur has been selected in Youth Action Net Chile, Young Leaders of El Mercurio and Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative.

Daniela Medina

Treasurer

Director of Compliance of Te Protejo. With more than six years of experience in financial, administrative management and volunteer coordination of non-governmental organizations.  Enthusiastic about teamwork and is part of the organization’s founding board of directors.

Magdalena López

Director

Member of the team of bloggers and the board of directors of  Te Protejo. With more than 10 years of experience in the execution of social projects, participating in public sector organizations, academia, and currently part of civil society organizations. Passionate about promoting the positive impact of people in organizations and societies, and for justice for better living conditions for those of us who inhabit the planet.

Marisol Queupumil

Secretary

Director of Certifications at Te Protejo, Industrial Civil Engineer who since 2020 has been responsible for the review and approval of technical documents and since 2022 in charge of leading the commercial and technical area to increase the availability of Cruelty Free brands, in addition to being coordinator of the V-Label certification program in Brazil.

Nicole Valdebenito

Director

Director of Awareness and Advocacy Te Protejo. She is a journalist and social communicator with more than ten years of experience in content generation, management and relationships with key actors, editor of print publications and web content. She is in charge of the awareness area, in addition to leading Advocacy in the countries where the organization is present.

Chris has 50 years of leadership experience as a Director or Trustee of various boards and foundations. He specializes in teaching, coaching, and mentoring. His professional experience ranges from small businesses to large international corporations. He helps identify and clarify problems. He advises action and solutions based on lived experience and common sense.

Mexican social entrepreneur, she is the director in LATAM for Generación Vegana. Additionally, she is the founder of the first vegan community center in Mexico, Casa Animal.
