Annual Report 2024: a year of progress for a cruelty-free world

At Te Protejo, we believe in a world where respect for animals is the norm rather than the exception. Since our foundation, we have been dedicated to driving real change in the cosmetics industry and in society, promoting cruelty-free alternatives and raising awareness about the impact of animal testing. Each year, we reaffirm our commitment to this cause, working tirelessly to influence public policy, educate the community, strengthen strategic alliances and expand our cruelty-free certification.

Driving change with key legislative advances

This year marked a milestone with the approval of the law banning animal testing for cosmetics in Chile, an achievement reached thanks to our advocacy work and the support of almost 300,000 citizen signatures. We also took an important step forward in Peru by presenting, together with ARBA, a bill to promote the same ban.

To support these advances, we continue to generate key information: we estimate that 22 million animals are used in experimentation each year in Latin America. Against this backdrop, we conducted studies on testing required by law and created a database of laboratories that offer alternative methods.

Building networks for a cruelty free future

Through social media campaigns, media presence and participation in international events, we reached millions of people with information about animal testing and cruelty-free alternatives. In Chile, Peru and Mexico, we conducted campaigns that impacted hundreds of thousands of consumers, promoting informed choices and market changes.

We also strengthened our alliances with more than 43 cruelty-free brands, providing support in their communication and dissemination. In addition, we implemented a system to help retailers correctly identify certified products, facilitating access to cruelty-free options.

We keep growing

Our cruelty-free certification continues to expand, with 94 new brands certified this year, bringing our total to 516 brands in our listings. We also strengthened our auditing and transparency processes, ensuring reliable standards for consumers and businesses.
