Who we are

Te Protejo is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of personal care and hygiene products that are cruelty free, along with a vegan lifestyle and other initiatives respectful towards environment and animals.

We have a network of more than 100 volunteers in the areas of Awareness, Certifications, Alliances and Advocacy, who help us spread information about the mission of the organization to raise awareness about animal and environmental protection in different areas. We are winners of Lush Prize 2017, and Viva Schmidheiny awards in 2019 and 2020.

MISSION

Raise awareness among the population through responsible consumption, and initiatives that respect the environment and animals in the cosmetic and personal hygiene industry.

VISION

Expand the work of NGO Te Protejo throughout Latin America, empowering those who consume to make conscious decisions with animals and the environment, to achieve a sustainable cosmetic industry free of animal cruelty.

Board of Directors

Camila Cortínez

President

General Director and Founder of NGO Te Protejo, has over ten years of experience in project management, in addition to the leadership of non-governmental organizations in the environmental and animal welfare areas. She has been selected as a young entrepreneur in Youth Action Net Chile, Young Leaders of El Mercurio, and Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative.

Daniela Medina

Treasurer

Director of Administration and Finances at NGO Te Protejo. Has more than eight years of experience in financial and administrative management and volunteer coordination of non-governmental organizations. An enthusiast of teamwork, she has raised and trained the NGO’s team of activists and is part of the founding board of the organization.

Magdalena López

Director

Member of the team of bloggers and part of the board of NGO Te Protejo. With more than 10 years of experience in the execution of social projects, participating in public sector organizations, academia, and currently part of civil society organizations. Passionate about promoting the positive impact of people in organizations and societies, and for justice for better living conditions for those who inhabit the planet.

Marisol Queupumil

Secretary

Certifications Coordinator in NGO Te Protejo as well as for the V-Label Program in Brazil. She has an Industrial Civil Engineer degree. She takes part on the organization’s board, performing as secretary. In charge of the review, approval, and registration of technical documents required during the certification process, proving that cosmetic products and their formulation have not been tested on animals.

Nicole Valdebenito

Director

Director of Awareness & Advocacy. She is a journalist and social communicator with more than ten years of experience in content generation, management, and relationships with key stakeholders, as well as editor of print publications and web content. She is in charge of the awareness area of the organization, in addition to leading its advocacy area in the countries where the NGO is present.

She is in charge of the dissemination and awareness area of the organization, in addition to leading its corporate area in the countries where the NGO is present.

Denisse Jimenez

Advocacy manager

Political Scientist with 10 years of experience in the public sector and in social organizations, working in areas of design and implementation of public policies, citizen participation and lobbying, and as a professor at Universidad Diego Portales. Her role in the NGO Te Protejo is to advise the board on strategies to influence public decision-making.
 
Siria Mora

Certification Manager

Owns more than 10 years of experience  on the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry within the cosmetic industry. She has experience in the development of cosmetic products from the beginning following all the stages of development until market launch.

Yolanda López

Alliances Manager

More than ten years of experience in Cultural Management and event production. Along with experience working in educational and non-profit organizations. She is Manager of Alliances with brands are and general producer of Ecobelleza events.

Camila Diaz

Administration Manager

Commercial engineer with a mention in administration with more than 4 years of experience in administration and finance. Currently serving as a Canine Educator in Amandog, personal entrepreneurship. Her role at NGO Te Protejo is to advise the Board on issues associated with administrative management.

Catalina Portales

Campaign Coordinator

Has a Social Communication and a journalist degree. She has collaborated in the organization as a volunteer since 2015 and, currently, she is responsible for coordinating campaigns for the NGO Te Protejo in Latin America.
 
Sofía Fonseca

Design Coordinator

Graphic Designer from the University of Chile. Has over 4 years of work experience creating graphic pieces, in addition to updating the #ViveCrueltyFree app. She is in charge of the Design volunteer team of the NGO.

Rocio Carcamo

Commercial Coordinator

Technic specialist on Business Administration with vast experience in the different areas of Administrative functions, finances and sales. Passionate for animal welfare and vegan enthusiast for over ten years.
